STEIFF JURASSIC PARK T-REX

Who would have thought, that by discovering a complete prehistoric mosquito in amber, that the dinosaur could be bought back to life. In fact, many dinosaurs. This was the theme for Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film Jurassic Park. It was a phenomenal hit resulting in a franchise and merchandise galore. CGI played a massive part in making the action and adventure look life-like and realistic when it came to the dinosaurs, bringing thrill and dramatic interaction with the actors, making it ground breaking in its execution. In celebrating their 30th Anniversary, Steiff have decided to honour the T-Rex, the most dangerous of all the cloned creations, as a diminutive alternative to the genuine article, courtesy of the German, master teddy bear maker themselves, Steiff in collaboration with Universal Studios.

The T-Rex is a plush, soft sculpture in a depiction of a tyrannosaurus rex. His detailed reptilian skin has been crafted from a specially created, smooth plush with a custom all-over, textured body print, resulting in as realistic effect as can be. His strong black claws have been sewn from black faux leather, with his open mouthed, roaring expression having been created from the finest wool felt, from his rows of white teeth, to his raised pink tongue, inside his mouth and connective jaw tissue. Delicate hand shading and painting have been applied for detail, depth and shade to give that perfect, mottled reptilian skin. To finish, yellow eyes crafted from glossy black safety eyes, surrounded with yellow felt and black faux leather rim.

He comes with a Jurassic Park, logo chest tag and matching ribbon tag, as well as his coveted ‘gold-plated button in the ear’ and Steiff ribbon tag.
